Tales of Meziria - Contest Entry
Tales of Meziria
Introduction:
Ronzen wakes up in a small village's hospice with no memory of what happened. He can't remember his name, who he is, who he was, or what happened to him. He has nothing that can help him remember, other than a note telling him to go to some mines. He must recover his memory before it is too late, and he becomes a lost shell containing a mere empty soul.
Characters:
Ronzen

Info: A man who's forgotten who he is or ever was. He must discover his true identity, and stop the threat that caused him to forget.
Lise
Name: Lise
Info: A woman who runs a Hospice in Daerin Village. She decides to help Ronzen after she discovers him passed out - nearly dead - amongst a road leading up to Daerin Village. She then decides to journey with him and help him out, seen as he doesn't know where to go, or how to get there.

I gotta say, those maps look REALLY nice but once again, how did you name him anything but Ralph?

I created an event with a setup like this::
Change Actor, Add [Ylva], Optimized
Change Name, [Ylva], Ronzen
Change Sprite, Face, etc.

Thanks.
To change the color of a font, you input this before the message:
\c[N], with N being the ID of that color on the windowskin, whilst \c[0] will change the color to the default color. For example, "\C[3]Hello World!\c[0]" would show the Hello World! as green in the message, but the "" would show as the default color, white.

Yeah, I decided to actually make a blog-type post system for this, so I can go through the development, and so Peva can know what stage I'm at so he can be aware this WILL be ready for the contest deadline.
-What I'm doing and what is done so far-
So far I have managed to finish off the first village, along with the introduction all set up.
So far, I have basically made the storyline and backstory full, and edited the RTP character of 'Ylva' to create a new character, Ronzen. What I'm trying to do is edit the initial equipment via event, and change the characters parameters and equipment that they can equip via event, too, but that will take a lot more work.
Also, I plan on editting the battle system (via event again.. :/) to create either an ABS or a side-view battle system.
Of course, if I was to event a side-view battle system it would take ages, so I will try to add it in at the end, and if not I'll have to add the ABS instead.
Also, I'll be adding more screenshots once I think they're needed and I've made them look decent for RTP. They will be including a new village map for Daerin (The starting village) and Daerin Path.
And that's all for the blog post.

The demo is now successfully completed. However, since Peva has updated the competition deadline, I will add more stuff to it, and possibly I might manage on finishing the Sideview battle system I started to event.
The demo so far is 35 minutes long so far, and it will be uploaded well... Once I can be assed to upload it.
The pictures have yet to be used, so I will be using them to add in a special "reflex" system, where you can duel an opponent, 1 on 1, to gain EXP and SP.
I may also make an SP system, too, which allows characters to purchase skills with the SP you gain from Reflex Battles.
Enjoy.
