Let's discuss what battle system is better in terms of looks, compatibility, being easy to make new animations, etc.

I'll start with the default frontal battle system.

Pros:
Easy to make new animations
Compatible with most battle scipts
Reminds me of SMT: Devil Survivor
Feels old-school (Earthbound, anyone?)

Cons:
Doesn't look that good
Can be boring
You can't see the party members

If you want do add a pro or a con to a battle system that was already avaliated, do it!

Adding a pro to the frontal battle system:
Not only is it easy to make new animations, but you don't need animations for skills only used by enemies, because you can't see the player. All you need is the flash screen and skill effect.

And am also adding the Tantekai Sideview Battle:
Pros:

You can see every character!
Provides a boat load of upgrades for various skills.
Provides a dead sprite for your character when he/she dies.

Cons:
Let's say you want a regular Double Attack, the skill updates will automatically make it a Multi Attack.

Adding Gubid's Tactical Battle System:

Pros:

  • Fight in the same map you are or a specific battle map of your choice.
  • Have any events running while the battle is going on! Npcs, etc.
  • All characters can have attacking, dead, magic, etc animations.
  • Summoning & range-specific spells
  • Awesome customization


Cons:
  • Can lag due to the many processes it runs.
  • Setting enemies can be time consuming - Movement, resistances, sprite animation...

Adding battle system Melody!:

Pros:
You can make enemies through Animations
there are 4 diffrent veiws for this battle system
KADUKI Can be in MELODY!


Cons:
If your on a certain battle mode and keep clicking attack an Error appears...
